emBrace the Trend...

12345678, & the Watch.

If you hadn't noticed the trendy layer bracelets all over Pinterest and fashion magazines this season, let me awaken you to my favorite accessorizing fad. Bracelet layering! It might be just about the easiest accessory going right now, but you wonder where to start. First, let me add that I start with my largest piece and build from there. More often than not it's a watch, but you could roll with a large statement bracelet as well. From here on out, it's all about sticking with your theme and adding a nice odd number. My best news of all is all of these bracelets you see pictured above are all from Target costing about $5-$15 a bracelet. Click the links above and see how I styled them with the inspiration shots below:

Fedora Faze: Part 2

Shirt: TJ Maxx | Shorts: Joe's Jeans | Hat: Target (similarsimilar) | Shoes: Steve Madden (similar) | Bag: Michael Kors |
Jewelry: DKNY Watch, JCrew Bracelet (similar), Target Bracelet (similar, similar), Necklace (Vintage)

I wanted to show the same look as Part 1 for a more casual summer day! By mixing up the jeans and wedges to shorts and flat sandals, I could easily go from day-to-night especially on the weekend where  denim in a staple. With summer being the most popular time of the year to travel, how easy would transition outfits like this be to pack?! Beach: shopping in shorts - dinner out in comfy wedges. Europe: hot day in shorts - cool night in jeans. Tourist City: sightseeing in flats - date night in heels. I've made my life so much easier with simple changes such as these over the past year. As I would suggest, start buying different, unique pieces in the same color to make your transitions just as simple. i.e. dark denim jeans:dark denim shorts, cognac wedges:cognac flats:cognac pumps, orange top:orange cardigan, red shorts:red skinny jeans, green linen pants:green skirt. Hope this might inspire a little inspiration!

Enjoy your weekend friends:)

Fedora Faze: Part 1

Shirt: TJ Maxx | Jeans: Joe's Jeans | Hat: Target (similar, similar) | Shoes: ALDO | Bag: Michael Kors |
Jewelry: DKNY Watch, JCrew Bracelet (similar), Necklace (Vintage)

As much as I've searched for a Fedora hat...after trying on every single one at JCrew...Gap...BananaRepublic...TJ Maxx...Marshalls, where do I find the one I've fallen for? The Men's Dept. at Target! I say it a phase, but I don't foresee myself getting tired of this "faze" anytime soon.  I've donned the hat at the pool, running errands, posing for pictures, being offered beer while taking pictures, and oh the waterpark's lazy river. What favorite accessory have you been in love with all summer?

Stay tuned for Part II coming soon. Happy Wednesday Friends :)

Fab Foral...

Shirt: Kenar via Marshalls | Pants: Gap | Sandals: Franco Sarto via TJ Maxx | Bracelets: Target | Earrings: Charming Charlie (old)

Switching up my backdrop this post with my old elementary school I attended 1-3 grade! So, needless to say, I appear to be strategically posing waiting to be picked up by my school bus. I guess the saying is true "I am still a kid at heart."

Florals are coming back in a fashion frenzy rage. But I dislike the prints that looks like it came off of my neighbors old quilt. So I tend to stick the the fab, modern, large print florals that feature bright colors. As promised in my last post, I also wanted to show off a few birthday gifts. These chic, layer bangles came from Target that my sister picked out for me. I was sorely lacking in the black bracelet department. So I'd say she did a really great job. You can check out her blog here: Tall Girl Musings.

How are you wearing your florals this season?

Disclaimer: Excuse the crazy mess of a hairstyle. I went au naturale with my waves, hair mousse, and a diffuser and had to pin it up to keep from competing with my fru-fru ruffles up around my neck.

A Funky Chevron...

Skirt: Gap | Cardigan: Gap | Shoes: ALDO | Bag: Bueno by Target | Necklace: F21| Earrings: Urban Outfitters
A little funky chevron? I know you've seen the horizontal zig-zag stripe all over everywhere here lately...it's trending hot and heavy. I'm confessing to you now that I snatched up this skirt a year or so ago before this was "in". Call me a trendsetter. KIDDING. But I've enjoyed the shorter, cooler skirt for this summer's heat and found this lightweight colorful cardigan at Gap just the other day while hitting up some of the end of summer season sales at the mall. This is the best time to shop the current season's sales because stores are already getting ready for fall merchandise. Go shop!

I wore this out to Michael Jackson's Immortal World Tour concert last week on a very spur-of-the-moment night out with my brother and a couple of his friends. We are crazy like this but had a super fun time! Michael Jackson music, Cirque du Soleil, and a MJ hologram that kinda creeped me out. What style is keeping you cool this summer?

Hot Pink Shades.

Shirt: Gap (old) | Skirt: Gap (another similar) | Shoes: Franco Sarto (TJ Maxx this week) | Sunnies: Target | Earrings: Chanel | Necklace: F21 (similar) | Black Bracelet: NY & Company
My outfit to work Friday consisted of hair in a ponytail. Nobody and I mean nobody recognized me. Lesson learned: that I should mix up my hairstyles more often! The pink shades was a Why Not? item I added for the pictures to give something a little crazy to this look. I had originally bought these back 2 years ago before neon colored shades from the 80's were back in style. This year they have come back in full force! But I was in a hair show and I'll let the pictures do the explaining:

Belle Ame Breast Cancer Awareness Hairshow - October 2010

So maybe the shades fit better with this crazy hair, but I wore them anyway just to amuse you!
Happy Monday!

Cobalt...

Pants: Kenar (TJ Maxx) | Shirt: TJ Maxx | Blazer: Gap (similar) | Shoes: Target | Sunnies: RayBan | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklace: Crazy Beautiful | Bracelet: Juicy Couture

Cobalt you might ask? To make a long story short...I have a whole lot of cobalt blue in my closet for the one reason you will find below. You remember me mentioning my younger brother helping me to jazz up my blog? Well, here he is--a junior college basketball player for our hometown University of Memphis Tigers. Needless to say, my wardrobe quickly became infiltrated with blue and gray over the past three years. But I have since fallen in love with this royal color and enjoy pairing it with other things besides just gray. Today, I went crisp with the white blazer and popped a snake skin sandal. How do you like to wear your favorite sports teams' colors?
