J.Crew Inspired...

Jeans: Kenneth Cole Outlet (similar here) | T-shirt: J.Crew | Blazer: Gap | Shoes: ALDO | Watch: DKNY |
Bracelets: Target, Target, Bauble Bar
It's Monday and a little J.Crew inspiration was the theme of this past weekend! My sister and I enjoyed a special last night about the man behind the brand...it was like a look into his head, his design, and what has made him so successful. After that show, you couldn't help but be influenced to wear something a bit J.Crewish. Bright colors he said are like a palette of paint a fashion artist has to work with. So naturally I started with the brightest orangey-red pants I had and built a J.Crew look from there. What brands or designers inspire you?

Pop of Orange

Skirt: Anthropologie (also like here, here) | Cardigan: Gap | Tank: Anthropologie (old) |
Shoes: Kenneth Cole (similar) | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: Express (similar)
To me this outfit was very teacher worthy... or at least I felt the part headed to work this week! The skirt was c/o www.tallgirlmusings.blogspot.com...thank you Amy. I paired it with one of my new, best-color-to-have cardigans from Gap. I have found that this color goes with everything and I love the fact that it is an orange cardigan which helps transition into fall. Do you ever feel the part just by the outfit you have on?

Katie

P.S. I'm in the mood for pumpkin anything, spice candles, and football games. It finally feels like fall y'all!

Cool Weather Chevron

Shirt: Indigo Boutique (also like here, here) | Blazer: Gap (Similar) | Shorts: Michael Kors (TJ Maxx) | Sunnies: Coach | Bag: Michael Kors | Shoes: Franco Sarto (Marshalls) | Watch: DKNY | Bracelet: Target

Take any of your summer outfits into fall with one simple piece from your wardrobe: a blazer. If you haven't invested in one, trust me, they are worth it! My favorite have come from Gap, Limited, and Express--nice without breaking the bank. Happy Fall ya'll!

Rainy Day Casual...

Skirt: Banana Republic (similar) | Shirt: Fossil (old) | Sandals: GAP (old)  | Bag: Michael Kors | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklace: Crazy Beautiful old (similar)

A little rainy day casual look inspired from a Pinterest photo. One tip in recreating the inspiration: don't get hung up with having the exact same piece, but rather pin outfits that are similar to matches in your own closet. "Oh I have a  white t-shirt and khaki skirt!" It's not the same gorgeous fabric or cute shoes as found in the inspiration, but you get the gist. Don't get bogged down with the details...go with the overall look!

Happy Monday!

Fab Foral...

Shirt: Kenar via Marshalls | Pants: Gap | Sandals: Franco Sarto via TJ Maxx | Bracelets: Target | Earrings: Charming Charlie (old)

Switching up my backdrop this post with my old elementary school I attended 1-3 grade! So, needless to say, I appear to be strategically posing waiting to be picked up by my school bus. I guess the saying is true "I am still a kid at heart."

Florals are coming back in a fashion frenzy rage. But I dislike the prints that looks like it came off of my neighbors old quilt. So I tend to stick the the fab, modern, large print florals that feature bright colors. As promised in my last post, I also wanted to show off a few birthday gifts. These chic, layer bangles came from Target that my sister picked out for me. I was sorely lacking in the black bracelet department. So I'd say she did a really great job. You can check out her blog here: Tall Girl Musings.

How are you wearing your florals this season?

Disclaimer: Excuse the crazy mess of a hairstyle. I went au naturale with my waves, hair mousse, and a diffuser and had to pin it up to keep from competing with my fru-fru ruffles up around my neck.
