Party Rock

Shirt: GLAM (Crazy Beautiful) | Pants: Gap | Shorts: Michael Kors | Jacket: Mossimo by Target | Belt: Gap (old) | Bag: Bueno by Target (gifted) | Shoes: Franco Sarto (Marshalls) | Sandals: ALDO | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Scripture Bracelet (gifted) | Sunnies: Ray Ban
I was singing the Party Rock Anthem by LFMAO in my head when I saw this shirt! It probably would have been quite an embarrassment to myself if I had actually opened my mouth in the store. haha I went from work with the jacket to some cute black shorts Friday on a night out on the town with my brother before he left for his Germany/Poland Basketball tour with Athletes in Action for three weeks. We hit up some Mellow Mushroom pizza (best in Memphis) and topped it off with a Strawberry Banana Jerry's Sno Cone which totally hit the spot as it has been about 95 degrees and sunny this week.
Party Rock was certainly the inspiration for this outfit and I love the effortless, colorful printed top to make the rest of an ensemble fall together quite easily. Fun prints have been another trend this season with just about any color going from neon stripes to muted aztec prints. What have been some of your favorite prints this season?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Go enjoy a Jerry's Sno Cone  Memphis!

Colorblocking...Everyone is Doing it.

Shirt: Katie K (TJ Maxx) | Skirt: Express similar | Belt: TJ Maxx | Shoes: Kenneth Cole Reaction similar | Purse: Bueno for Target (Gifted)  similar | Necklace: BaubleBar | Watch: Charming Charlie
You see everyone doing this so I thought why not give it a try myself? I have to admit, though some of the colorblocking is a bit extreme,  I prefer to tone it down again where I feel more comfortable rather than feel like a clown. So work appropriate?  Most definitely! I paired the emerald green top and cobalt blue skirt with the neutral...this time being black. What color combos would be your favorite to colorblock?

As you can see, the options are quite limitless:

Shoutout to my brother who decided to help amp up my photographs this post by being my own personal photographer! He deserves some recognition and seriously what little brothers do you know of that would do such a thing? He's home from college which is only about 20 minutes down the street, but it's nice to have him around. I love you buddy and thank you!

Day to Night Transition

Shirt: MM Couture | Skirt: Express similar | Shoes: Nine West similar wedge | Watch: DKNY (TJ Maxx) | Necklace: F21 similar

Shirt: MM Couture | Shorts: Willi Smith Couture (TJ Maxx) | Shoes: Steve Madden (Target version) | Belt: Gap | Watch: DKNY (TJ Maxx) | Necklace: F21 similar

Here lately I've been rushing home from work to head right back out the door for my night activities. So I've become very good and taking the top and pairing with another similar but more laid-back bottom. Easy transition! One way I've found that makes this so easy is I have been collecting a variety of bottoms in different styles of some of my favorite colors. White is my first choice, followed by denim and black. Here I wore this dressier version to work and switched out my cream skirt for a pair of off-white shorts to head out to my boyfriend's softball game and dinner that night. 5 minutes max. Oh plus the time it took me to snap this lovely photo:) How do you like to transition from day to night? I'd love to hear your tricks!

Black & White

Shirt: Gap Pants: Cynthia Rowley (Marshalls) Shoes: Franco Sarto (TJ Maxx) Bracelet: F21 Necklace: American Eagle (old)

Black and white is so easily accessorized that you can virtually create any look around two simple pieces. Black and white. As you can see, I threw on my new favorite pair of shoes this season...a steal at TJ Maxx in an awfully fun orange/red color and wore my chunky colorful bracelet to boot. Black and white is such a closet staple that I catch myself quickly turning to these two colors as my go-to items because it's safe. Step out of the safe box a little this summer and throw some color into creating something new! How do you like to wear your black and white?

Whites, Brights, & a Pop of Neutral

Shirt: Gap Jeans: Kenneth Cole Shoes: Steve Madden Belt: Gap Watch: DKNY Bracelet: Target
This is probably one of my favorite shirts of the season. One, I'm a summer and look best in bright colors, two, it plays off both neutral and neon and, three, it was from Gap. So that means I got a great deal on it! Brights are in whether you are pairing with white or another bright (color blocking). However you chose to incorporate the bright color into your style this season, always remember the neutral helps calm it down. Keepin' it classy ladies!
